Eligibility Criteria for the Hostel Allotment at South Asian University, New Delhi

Hostel allotments for the regular Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Ph.D. students will be done after meeting the following eligibility criteria:

  1. The candidate should not be residing within 20 km of the South Asian University, New Delhi.
  2. Students from SAARC countries other than India will be given priority.
  3. All the admitted students may not get hostel accommodation due to the limited availability of hostel rooms. Therefore, hostel accommodation will be offered only to eligible candidates, subject to his/her merit and availability of a seat in the SAU Hostel.
  4. Initially, a merit list is prepared by the SAU’s Admissions & Examinations division, which is further evaluated by the Hostel Administration.
  5. The Hostel Administration may also ask the applicants to submit a recent Character Certificate issued by his/her previous school/college/institution.
  6. Admission to a program does not guarantee hostel allotment on the SAU campus.
  7. All resident-students shall be required to submit a fresh application in each academic session.
